My family and I went down to vacation a whole week in Gulf Shores, Alabama. It was such a great time with my husband’s family! David is number 4 of 6 siblings.
Six siblings, each with significant others, plus my mother-in-law and father-in-law AND their six young grandchildren (5 of them under three) needless to say there was not one dull moment.
Aren’t they all beautiful?! And even more so on the inside 😉
It was a great vacation and one that was very much needed. But eventually vacation comes to an end and home starts calling for you to come back!
Because I stay home with the kids, “getting back to reality” for me is more like getting back to “hmmm what can I change in the house next ?”
I have this rule that I try to stick to. I have to finish a project before I start a new one. This motivates me to try to finish the current project as soon as possible !
I finished painting the other half of the galaxy on the ceiling and continued to “spill” it onto the walls.
Because we were gone on vacation for a week I felt like it took me forever just to get to this point. But no bother, we were finally finished with that! Now it was onto the fun part. THE STARS!
I originally wanted to do the stars exclusively in Glow-in-the-Dark Paint. But the white glow-in-the-dark paint was too translucent to really pop! So I had to use some acrylic white paint too!
Heres what I used for the stars:
White Glow-in-the-Dark Paint
Titanium White Acrylic Paint
Old Toothbrush (I used my dogs lol )
Cup of water
I dipped the tooth brush into the white paint (alternating glow -in-the-dark and acrylic) then immedialty dipped it into the water. Then I just took my thumb to “flick” the bristles of the toothbrush aiming it toward the wall. Et Voila! Instant stars!
Paint does get everywhere but the end result is so lovely and really puts it over the top! The playroom/”play-verse” is finally coming together! Now I have to paint the bottom half of the wall! Yay we’re almost done
That’s what’s new In The House of David! Thank you so much for swinging by! Stay tuned for some more DIY and fun!
Come over again soon!
