I wanted to do an mountain adventure theme room for my boys. I was off to Pinterest to get some inspiration. I saw a lot of the ombré-like mountain murals, which I like. (Actually in our old home, this is exactly what I did for their room. ) But I think I wanted something a littler BOLDER this time around!
So this is what we started with…. all the walls this beige-tan. It’s not a horrible color, just very neutral. And hey, I love neutral, white is my favorite color.
But not because white is “neutral” at all! But because I can simply say “my favorite color is white” to mean “my favorite color is ALL colors!” .
SO not hating on the whole neutral vibe going on in this room, but to me it was a tad BLAHHHH for a toddler room.
I found this photo on Pinterest and I decided this was going to be my inspo for their room! Didn’t they do a great job with this nursery?
After about 2 and a half days the mountain mural was finished, and I needed to decide on a paint color for the other three walls! …Something a little more fun and bold to go with the mountain wall!
Their mountain adventure room is south facing, so I wanted a dark color to kind of tone and cool down that intense red light shining through the windows. I chose a dark almost-black-green color.
All that was left was to fill the room with some furniture and decor!
Take a look, hope you like it!
My mother-in-law came up with this brilliant idea to hang signs above all the doors in the hallway. We get compliments on these little signs all the time!
We rearranged the furniture, and my brother-in-law helped replace the builder grade ceiling fan and installed this fun airplane light fixture! I think it totally brings the “adventure” feel into this mountain adventure room!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Are you taking on any home projects? Stay tuned for more DIY and fun happening In The House Of David!
